Daneson
Daneson was founded in 2011 by Peter Smith, a former London finance executive who moved to Ontario and set himself an unlikely challenge — to make the best toothpick in the world. What began as a personal experiment in craftsmanship became a small study in patience and precision. Each pick is carved from northern white birch and steeped in barrel-aged whisky, made in small batches with an old-fashioned regard for detail. For every tree harvested, one hundred are planted — a simple exchange that keeps the circle honest.
Today, Daneson’s whisky-infused toothpicks have found their way onto tables in some of the world’s best restaurants, admired as much for their quiet theatre as for their taste. They take the after-dinner ritual — that slow, satisfied pause after a good meal — and elevate it into something worth savouring. There’s a whisper of oak, a trace of smoke, and the faint warmth of the drink that inspired them. More than a novelty, they’re a small gesture of refinement — proof that good things can still be made slowly, and that even the smallest detail can leave a lasting impression.
