HAWS

Haws is named after its founder, John Haws, the inventor of the world renowned watering can the company still sells today. When trying to grow vanilla in Madagascar back in 1884, Haws realised he could improve upon the incumbent design with better balance and water distribution. So he patented his improved model and began production, claiming his can was easier to carry and tip than those of his competitors.

Today, almost 140 years later, Haws continue to make things of practical beauty. A quick google shows how beloved they are amongst journalists, horticulturalists and interior designers. Whilst the awards they've amassed owe much to their pragmatic design, it's difficult to overlook how attractive they are. Adding rich pops of colour and brass to any table, countertop or bookshelf, you wont want to tidy these away after you've finished with the plants.
