Vacu Vin
Vacu Vin was founded in Delft, in the Netherlands, in the 1980s, after Bernd Schneider came up with a simple way to keep an opened bottle of wine fresh for longer. His vacuum wine saver, developed with his brother John, became one of those rare kitchen ideas that immediately made sense the moment you used it. From there, the company grew steadily, expanding into wine, bar and coffee tools while keeping the same Dutch approach to design: practical, unfussy, and built around solving everyday problems properly.
Vacu Vin makes genuinely useful tools without overdesigning them. Their wine savers, electric openers, cocktail kits and cooling sleeves are simple to understand, reliable to use, and designed with the assumption that people want less friction, not more ceremony. There’s a Dutch straightforwardness to the brand that’s easy to like. The products work, they last, and they tend to become the sort of thing you quietly rely on without thinking much about it. That’s probably why Vacu Vin has stuck around for decades while so many trend-driven kitchen brands have disappeared.
