Following in the footsteps of vinyl, the cassette industry is witnessing a modern resurgence, with demand steadily increasing year on year for the last decade. Whilst most players are cheap and basic, the guys at We Are Rewind have gone in a different direction, offering feature-laden players with nostalgic, retro styling.

When in-hand they feel incredibly premium, thanks to their robust build-quality and full-aluminium casing, a design choice which means they'll last longer than their cheap Chinese counterparts. A "porthole" lets you see where on the cassette you are too.

They're available in four different colours, each named after a famous artist - Serge (orange), Kurt (blue), Keith (black) and Amy (limited edition black and yellow)

Each can record tapes as well as playing them, a critical addition most modern players don't facilitate. Just link the player with a line level source via the 3.5mm socket, press the orange record button and you're away. Whilst record labels are now publishing new music on cassette again, this record functionality gives you full flexibility to record your favourite albums, transfer audiobooks or craft thoughtfully considered mixtapes.

In a world-first they've added Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, so you can connect the player to your headphones or wireless speaker in seconds. But if you prefer keeping it fully old-school they also sport headphone output jacks to physically connect wired versions.

They've replaced expensive, replaceable batteries with a rechargeable lithium version, providing up to 12 hours of continuous playback whilst making them more practical and environmentally friendly.
