Why It Made The List
The world’s most memorable golf courses aren’t always the obvious ones, and this luxury leather-bound edition from Graphic Image makes a brilliant case for the strange, spectacular and seriously far-flung. It covers remarkable courses at every extreme, from La Paz in Bolivia to Death Valley, the Arctic Circle to Tierra del Fuego. The stories are half the fun: a green reached by electric ferry, an LA course with its own funicular, Idaho’s floating hole, ancient stones in Scotland, Roman roads in England and a drive over an active volcano in Guatemala. Add extraordinary photography and Graphic Image’s five decades of leather craftsmanship, and it becomes the sort of gift that elevates any golfer’s bookshelf, office or coffee table.
224 pages, 28.5 x 25 cm.

MORE DETAIL
MORE DETAIL
This handsome leather-bound golf book brings together remarkable courses from around the world, with a focus on the extremes, quirks, settings, and stories that make them memorable.
It covers courses from the highest in La Paz, Bolivia, to the lowest in Death Valley, USA, and from the most northerly in the Arctic Circle to the most southerly in Tierra del Fuego.
The revised and updated edition adds new courses including Ardfin, Blue Lakes, and Winston Links.
The details are often as interesting as the golf itself, from an 18th green across the River Lea served by electric ferry to an LA course with its own funicular railway.
Other examples include Idaho’s floating golf hole, where both the pin position and the distance from shore can change, and the Fuego Maya course in Guatemala, where players line up a drive on an active volcano.
The book also looks at courses shaped by history and landscape, including sites with neolithic standing stones in Scotland, Roman roads in England, ruined medieval castles in Wales, old temples in Delhi, and a UNESCO World Heritage bridge linking the 9th and 10th at Angkor Wat.
Classic courses such as St Andrews, Carnoustie, Royal St George, and Westward Ho! sit alongside desert courses in Nevada and Arizona, Hawaiian courses edged by black lava flows, and remote Scottish links including the Machrie Hotel on Islay and the Isle of Barra.
This edition is bound in emerald bonded leather by Graphic Image, giving the book a more substantial, gift-ready feel than a standard golf title.
