A knife with real family history behind it, the Helle Sigmund was created for the brand’s seventy fifth anniversary and brings together two generations of Helle design.

The blade follows a pattern Sigmund Helle drew up in the 1930s, and the handle was shaped by his son Torodd in 2012, so you're getting about eighty years of craft thinking in one tool.

The blade uses Helle’s triple laminated stainless steel with a clean polished finish. It has a classic Scandi grind that bites nicely into wood and stays controlled when you are carving or doing camp tasks.

The tang runs the full length of the handle, which gives the knife a solid, confident feel without making it heavy.

The handle mixes darkened oak with stacked leather and has that easy, natural shape Helle is known for. Every handle is finished by hand, so no two are exactly the same, and the small variations give it a real sense of being made, not manufactured.

The sheath is simple and traditional, cut from vegetable tanned leather with a stitched seam and a belt loop that keeps the knife secure but still lets it swing naturally as you move.

The knife measures 210 mm in total. The blade is 89 mm long and 3.0 mm thick. The full kit, sheath included, weighs 140 g.

It is a lovely piece of Norwegian outdoor craft. Practical, capable and full of heritage, it feels like a knife you will come back to year after year.
