When compared to the Nanopresso (Wacaco's previous version, also available on L.O.G.), The Picopresso features a simplified pumping system that requires less force and effort, making it more user-friendly and convenient. Whilst the Nano only accommodates 8g of ground coffee without the additional basket upgrade (enough for one shot), the Pico facilitates 18g for a double shot of strong espresso as standard. The Nano uses a non-pressurised plastic basket, which while more forgiving, won't allow the very highest performance that the Pico's stainless steel non-pressurised version facilitates. The Pico is also slightly shorter and wider, which some people may prefer when it comes to saving space. These are all attributes that helped the upgraded Picopresso win the coveted 2022 Red Dot design award.
