Allday Goods combine professional-grade blades with handles fashioned from 100% waste plastic, making beautiful, sustainable tools to be used every day.

These petty knives (also known as utility knives) are smaller than the Santokus, making them better suited to more precise, detailed work. For much home cooking the petty is all you need, making quick work of fruit, vegetables, herbs and smaller cuts of meat.

The blades are hand-forged in Solingen, Germany, a town with a geographical trademark (just like Champagne) for a rich knife-making history going back to at least the 14th Century. The family-run business that produce these blades have been doing so in Solingen since 1790, so it's fair to say you're buying from experts.

The blades are fashioned from 57 HRC stainless steel, which keeps a razor-sharp edge, but should be cared for appropriately to ensure they work to their full potential. Instructions on how to look after them are included in the box.

The magic though, is in the handling. Waste plastic is collected, washed, shredded, melted and formed into those beautiful, octagonal handles. For these Maldon versions, Allday collaborated with Maldon Sea Salt, using their large green tubs to make this best-selling colourway. Since the composition varies from handle to handle, no two pieces will ever be the same–every one is completely unique.

The knives comes in an attractive presentation box, each containing a "meet the maker" card, limited edition sticker, care instructions and a penny to ward off bad luck.
