These military-grade training shorts from Ten Thousand are a cut above. Developed in collaboration with members of the U.S. Special Operations Forces, they're part of the brand's premium range, loaded with features and infused with field-tested tech that sets them apart from anything else we've seen. That means ultra-light, durable ripstop shell fabric, super-tough, anti-abrasive waistbands, iron-clad stitching, a quick-dry construction and more pockets than you can shake a barbell at. The built-in, anti-odour compression liner keeps you supported through the most gruelling of workouts and most importantly of all, you'll look and feel like you're in the SEALS when you throw them on.

Everything New York-based Ten Thousand make is designed in collaboration with elite athletes–that's their USP. But for these tactical training shorts the brand went a step further. Working with members of the US Special Forces community, they've produced military-grade garb that brushes off the most brutal of sessions.

The fabric is light but incredibly strong, made from a nylon/spandex mix that's almost impossible to rip, tear or penetrate. This makes them perfect for tough, abrasive workouts, whether it's an obstacle course, crushing Crossfit WOD or heavy bar session in the gym.

The spandex component gives them a slight stretch, which along with a generous side slit renders them more comfortable than you'd imagine from such a robust construction.

Pockets are everywhere. Ten Thousand's "Easy Session Carry" system means two secure-zip hip pockets, smaller slip compartments for keys/cards and a dedicated phone pocket on the liner, so you really can take it all with you.

That built-in liner is incredibly comfortable, with fine stitching that doesn't chafe and a permanent anti-odour treatment that really works.

When it comes to training gear, these really are as tough as it gets. They'll stand up to any abuse you can throw at them, which as far as we're concerned makes them a perfect addition to The List.
