Why It Made The List

These 7" carpenter pencils are a great little product from a beloved American brand. They fit nicely in your apron, overall pocket or behind most ears, and due to their flat design, won't roll away while you work. It also means thicker, wider lead for scribing on wood and an easier grip in gloves. That ridiculously-bright fluorescent orange coating makes them easy to find in a cluttered workshop or toolbox and they're made of FSC-certified wood, which you'll have to sharpen with a knife, the old fashioned way.
